STOCK ISLAND YACHT CLUB & MARINA

This well-protected marina along the unspoiled Atlantic Ocean shoreline is the perfect location for sailing lessons on Offshore Sailing School’s Colgate 26 keelboats, and Fast Track to Cruising courses on a new Lagoon 40 catamaran.  In minutes you are sailing out the Boca Chica Channel, with gorgeous maritime views. The marina has a large swimming pool if you want to take a dip after your lessons and before you head back to your hotel. There’s also a Ship Store where you can pick up some snacks and ice cream.

Prior to each sailing session in the 3-day Learn to Sail course and the two days of the basic sailing instruction in Fast Track to Cruising course before boarding the catamaran on the 3^rd day, you will attend classroom sessions in meeting rooms next to the pool.

While taking the Offshore Sailing School 3-day Learn to Sail sailing lessons, or the first two days of the Offshore Sailing School Fast Track to Cruising® course, we recommend you stay and play at this luxury beachside resort – an Offshore Sailing School preferred partner. We recommend you stay at the Key West Marriott Beachside Hotel as it is close to Stock Island Yacht Club & Marina and the Key West International Airport.  It’s a comfortable hotel with a fitness center open 24 hours/day, heated outdoor waterfront pool and poolside whirlpool; the Chicken Walk poolside bar and restaurant; a small marina where you can board the hotel’s Beachside Express Water Taxi for a fun-ride to downtown Key West; jet ski tours, kayaking and day and night paddle boarding.  A land hotel shuttle is also available several times a day for rides to downtown Key West. In the evening, you can enjoy internationally inspired cuisine and cocktails at the hotel’s Tavern N Town Restaurant & Bar just off the Grand Lobby.

DRIVE OR FLY TO KEY WEST FOR A FABULOUS EXPERIENTIAL VACATION

Key West International Airport (EYW) is currently serviced by American Airlines, Delta, Silver Airways, United, JetBue and Allegiant. By Uber, the airport is just 1.9 miles (6 minutes) to the Key West Marriott Beachside Hotel, and 4 miles (11 minutes) to Stock Island Yacht Club & Marina.  To get to Duval Street and other attractions in Key West, an uber ride will take about 14 minutes in modest traffic.

You can also fly into Miami International Airport (MIA) and rent a car for the scenic 160-mile drive to the island.

To get from the Key West Marriott Beachside Hotel if you chose not to drive, we recommend reserving Uber for the 8 min (2.3 mile) drive to and from. Another hotel closer to the marina is Oceans Edge Resort.
