For experienced sailors, the Monohull or Catamaran Docking Refresher Course is designed to provide ultimate confidence while docking a large sailboat cruising vessel. When you sign up, you choose whether you want to take this course on a 44′-47′ monohull cruising yacht, or a 40′-45′ catamaran sailing vessel. The Monohull or Catamaran Docking Refresher Course covers all you need to know to be able to dock the boat of your choice with proficient ease in various wind conditions.

During this two-day weekend sailboat cruising course, you live aboard the boat throughout the weekend, learning and practicing docking techniques all day Saturday and up to 3 p.m. on Sunday. This two-day weekend sailing lessons course is for experienced sailors with US Sailing Bareboat Cruising Certification or equivalent experience who . . .

• Wish to transition from monohull sailboats to catamaran sailboat cruising,
• Or may have learned on or own a catamaran and want more training in operating a catamaran while sailing, docking, anchoring, and picking up mooring balls.

Throughout the weekend, all day Saturday and Sunday up to 3 p.m., you live aboard while learning and practicing big boat maneuvers.  To participate you must have earned US Sailing Bareboat Cruising Certification or have equivalent certification obtained within the past five years.

IPC PREP WITH BAREBOAT CRUISING CERTIFICATION AND CAT ENDORSEMENT

For Experienced Sailors Who Want to Charter in the Med and Abroad

This three-day big sailboat sailing lessons course will ultimately provide you with US Bareboat Cruising Certification 104, so you can obtain the US Sailing International Sailing Proficiency for chartering abroad. It is the perfect weekend course for . . .

• Sailors who have lots of cruising boat experience but do not hold any certifications,
• And sailors with US Sailing Basic Keelboat 101 and Basic Cruising 103 certifications.

If you choose to take this course on a catamaran, you also may earn the US Sailing Catamaran Endorsement 114.

Ultimately, the purpose of this course is to help you obtain the IPC (International Proficiency Certificate) for chartering monohulls or catamarans anywhere in the world. Why do you need an IPC? Sailors who have lots of cruising experience on 40′ or larger vessels are finding it increasingly difficult to charter a boat from The Moorings, Sunsail or other charter companies abroad unless they hold the International Proficiency Certificate. The only way to get that certificate from US Sailing, the governing body of sailing in the United States, is to have proof of having earned US Sailing Bareboat Charter Certification 104 which you will get in this course after passing the test.

Sailing instruction is all day Friday and Saturday and up to 3 p.m. on Sunday.
