“This course exceeded all my expectations. The instructor possessed a lifetime of experience and skills and had great communication and instructor ability. If I was having difficulty with a concept, he listened well and quickly identified how my thought process took me off track. His review of yacht mechanics including engine, electrical systems and all the valve and pumps was thorough and practical. I feel confident I could identify problems and now know enough to keep them from getting worse until assistance was available. I was surprised to learn, the school craft for this course is kept only for a one year period and new boat is brought in to replace it. As the last class on this boat before it was retired, I found the boat to be excellently maintained, clean, and well equipped. The navigation station and related electronics were easy to understand for the novice. The Hunter 49 was the easiest to sail and well-designed of the six comparable yachts I’ve sailed thus far.

I also want to add with respect to the instructor, as a middle-age female taking the course, I found him to be supportive and encouraging as I learned about the two most foreign aspects of the curriculum: boat mechanics knowledge and driving the thing. He kept a watchful eye but really facilitated my skill development to its limit with regard to driving (as much as possible in this short time). My long distance phone conversations with the staff were excellent, informational and selling the merits of your school. I also feel the anchoring instruction and practice was excellent and will make me a much better crew member; a safer member. Thanks for a great experience.
