Learning in a dynamic, supportive, stimulating setting is extremely effective. Formats are tailored to meet development needs and objectives at all levels, from new managers to senior executives. A minimum of three days is suggested to build management, control and guidance skills of executives and managers through intense sailing instruction, embedded in an assessment-rich interactive experience. Customized programs are also available.
In a typical three-day program, teams of four spend half-days learning to sail with expert coaches on award-winning Colgate 26 sailboats, then participate in a series of sailing races and leadership exercises. Developing leadership skills aboard a sailboat powered by wind alone, is reinforced with 360-degree and personality assessments, group discussions, and peer feedback in private break-out sessions guided by CCL faculty ashore.

The Colgate 26 is the perfect platform for relating leadership aboard to everyday conditions in the work place. Designed by Steve Colgate and renowned naval architect Jim Taylor, the Colgate 26 is used exclusively for training new entries to the U.S. Naval Academy and U.S. Coast Guard Academy.
