Leadership at the Helm combines a powerful leadership training environment with immediate applications in the workplace. Learning in a dynamic, supportive, stimulating setting is extremely effective. Formats are tailored to meet development needs and objectives at all levels, from new managers to senior executives. A minimum of three days is suggested to build management, control and guidance skills of executives and managers through intense sailing instruction, embedded in an assessment-rich interactive experience. Customized programs are also available.

In a typical three-day program, teams of four spend half-days learning to sail with expert coaches on award-winning Colgate 26 sailboats, then participate in a series of sailing races and leadership exercises. Developing leadership skills aboard a sailboat powered by wind alone, is reinforced with 360-degree and personality assessments, group discussions, and peer feedback in private break-out sessions guided by CCL faculty ashore.
