Sail for the Cure - Charity Sailing Event

Learn to sail with Offshore Sailing School and Help Cure Blood Cancers

Offshore Sailing School is a proud national sponsor of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Leukemia Cup Regattas.  We are joining sailors nationwide to help raise money to cure blood cancers.

$25 of every 2010 regular course tuition we receive will be donated to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). If taking a sailing course is on your bucket list, you can make that goal even more meaningful if do it this year. Help us achieve our goal of raising $40,000 for LLS by the end of 2010!

Choose one of our special weeks below and contribute even more

Offshore Sailing School and South Seas Island Resort invite you to take a course on behalf of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. This is a very special charity sailing training experience – a fun-filled and rewarding learning vacation that will change your life and the lives of those suffering from blood cancers. Offshore Sailing is playing our part in raising funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and when you do you get a bonus saving and we get to give more.

$200 of your vacation package goes to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and you save $100 off your package too!

Learn to Sail or take a Performance Sailing course and help  raise money for the fight against blood cancers: leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma. While you pursue your passion on a rewarding five-day learning vacation, your substantial donation will help change lives. Choose your charity sailing course and one of these following special dates set aside to support Sail for the Cure:

Learn in the warm waters of "Florida's Tahiti"

Never sailed? Feeling rusty? Want to reinforce small boat sailing skills? The Learn to Sail course takes you from never sailed through the intermediate level. The Performance Sailing course is your ticket to competitive sailing fun. Both course schedules are the same so friends and family traveling together can share free time when not on the water.

Plan to arrive Sunday and depart for home the following Friday after your inspiring test sail without the instructor aboard. You will be amazed at how much you learn.

Each day starts with a classroom reinforcing everything you'll cover on the water. You'll sail half a day each day with no more than three other students and your instructor aboard. During these fast-paced hands-on sessions you rotate positions and learn the whys, not just the hows of handling a high performance sailboat with finesse. Then enjoy the rest of the day, relaxing and participating in all there is to do at this fabulous Florida playground.

Per person package rates

April and May dates are $1445 double occupancy, $1895 single occupancy. You may deduct $100 from your package and we will also donate $200 to LLS instead of the $25 per tuition mentioned above.

Double occupancy is for two people taking the course together and sharing a room; single occupancy is for a private room and one spot in the course. If you are bringing a friend or loved one who is not taking the course, you pay the single rate for the two of you with no extra charge for the second person sharing your room (not enrolled in a course). Villas with one to three bedrooms are also available for larger parties.

BOOK NOW or call 800-221-4326 to tell us which week you want to go.

Your all inclusive sail-training package includes:

  • The five-day Learn to Sail or Performance Sailing course
  • Five nights accommodations in a Harbourside Room
  • Test sail without the instructor aboard at the end of the course
  • Colgate Certification for the course you choose
  • Comprehensive textbook sent in advance to study
  • Graduation celebration where you receive your diploma and logbook
  • Your $500 donation to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society!

All sailing is aboard award-winning Colgate 26 sailboats - choice of the U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Coast Guard Academy, Maine Maritime Academy, day sailors and racers around the world. The Colgate 26 is deisgned with performance, comfort and safety and mind. This fast, easy to handle day sailer is a hoot to sail!

Time to learn - time to play

There's so much to do at South Seas Island Resort  where the focus is on green enjoyment, and dolphins and manatees play as you sail. Tennis, jogging trails, fishing, golf, kayaking, golf, exploring nearby Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge, relaxing by gorgeous pools, bicycling, miles of sandy shell-strewn beaches, and a whole lot more!

Once you learn to sail with Offshore Sailing School, you can help raise additional funds to fight leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma by joining The Leukemia Cup Regatta, an event that is hosted by The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in cities across the country. Leukemia Cup participants raise more than just a sail to help fight leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma. Sailors receive a comprehensive fundraising handbook filled with incentives, fundraising ideas, sample letters and event ideas. For more information on this amazing charity sailing opportunity, visit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Leukemia Cup website.

The $200 donation to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is sent to LLS only for those taking a course who book with the code LLS10.
