If you live in the New York Metro area, the very same Kids and Teens Learn to Sail Free program is also available at our Jersey City, NJ location May through October, select weeks, Monday through Friday.
You learn together on award-winning Colgate 26 sailboats with a huge cockpit, small cabin to stow your gear while sailing and plenty of go-fast features to keep everyone engaged. The five-day schedule gives everyone the opportunity to learn at a comfortable pace, with time to take advantage of the many activities available at our special resort locations.

The Bareboat Cruising Preparation Course
If everyone in the family has already taken our Learn to Sail course or each feel very confident about basic sailing skills on sailboats 20' or more, then choose our five-day Bareboat Cruising Preparation Course. In this program you and your family learn how to handle a 43' to 50' cruising yacht (depending on location) at the same fantastic savings. You save $2990 or more on your total package and you may bring up to four kids and teens 7-17 to learn with you FREE!
We will quote your entire package including shore-side accommodations when you tell us how many are in your party and what type of accommodations you desire at the resort you choose below.
The Live Aboard Cruising Course
Ah, now you can live and learn the dream of sailing in paradise. This five-day course gives you the same skills as Bareboat Cruising Preparation, but here you spend your time living aboard while you learn. Depending on the boat and location, you may bring up to four kids and teens to learn with you FREE, and you will save $3190 or more! Your total Live Aboard Cruising course package (which includes accommodations aboard, meals, cruising taxes and other fees) will be quoted when you tell us which of these great locations below you'd like for your incredible sailing adventure.
Whether you are just starting out with a comprehensive and fun Learn to Sail vacation adventure on a Colgate 26 or taking the next step on one of our fabulous cruising yachts, you only pay tuition for two adults (or one adult and one sibling 18 years or older); additional children and teens (ages 7-17) learn with you at no cost for their tuitions!
These sailing specials are only available on new bookings, when you buy the full package, staying at the resort or living aboard while taking the course. Courses generally start Monday morning. Plan to arrive Sunday night and leave the following Friday afternoon or stay an extra day or two to play in the sun. Don't forget to purchase trip insurance to give you piece of mind when you book your vacation.

- Two copies of Steve and Doris Colgate's Fast Track to Sailing book published by McGraw-Hill for the Learn to Sail Course or Fast Track to Cruising book if taking a cruising course
- Family test sail without the instructor aboard at course end
- Colgate Sailing Certification for all who take and pass the certification tests (not required)
