A very special way to make new friends
The Offshore Sailing Club of New York is all about having fun – our large fleet of award-winning Colgate 26 sailboats are fast, fun, safe, roomy and ergonomically friendly. With sophisticated adjustments and high performance they are as much fun to race as they are to sail around the harbor on a refreshing getaway. Our office is in a colorful old Lightship in the marina, where Club members meet to start their day.
Sailing with the New York-New Jersey Sailing Club is shared with other Club members. There is a an incredible sense of camaraderie felt throughout the season, with a caring management staff to make sure that everyone's day on the water is the best experience you'll ever have. Lasting friendships occur. Members cruise together in the winter in dream locations with the Offshore Cruising Club at special rates. Avid racers go down to participate together in Offshore Sailing School's North U./Offshore Performance Race Week and come back ready to win when first starting gun sounds at season opening.
The New York Club fleet

When you join the club you don't have to own a boat or even know someone who does. You will have full access to the award wining COLGATE 26 - a safe, comfortable, fast easy to sail and virtually unsinkable boat.
Designed by Steve Colgate and renowned naval architect Jim Taylor, the COLGATE 26 won Cruising World magazine’s 1997 Boat of the Year Award in the Pocket Cruiser category. The United States Naval Academy, U.S. Coast Guard Academy, the Maine Maritime Academy and other service institutions chose the COLGATE 26 for training.
You will discover why the Colgate 26 is the mark of a quality sailing experience when you join the Club – the envy of other sailing clubs in the area and around the country. It's a hoot to sail!
Whether working or retired, in school or well beyond, this Club is for you. When you join you will be given access to our Calendar where you can sign up for a spot on a boat any day of the week, half-days or full-days. A Club Agreement outlining all the details can be sent on request. Just call one of our friendly advisors at 888-454-7015 for more details.

"This course exceeded my expectations. I was thoroughly satisifed with the course material and our instructor was great! High enthusiasm and knowledge gave me complete confidence in going out on the boat even with challenging conditions. I look forward to getting out for more sailing now with the club and continuing this great recreation and sport!!

A few extra details
All New York Sailing Club members must pay a per person $300 refundable security deposit when joining the Club each year. This covers any undue loss or damage on Club boats when sailed by Club members, that is not part of normal "wear and tear." Details are in the Club Agreement.
If you are heading to Florida and want to use Club boats at our Florida Club station, there is a $50 check-out fee to make sure you know the ins and outs of the harbor and docking in that location. This little refresher is well worth the time and effort.
